Dental Crowns & Bridges: The Building Blocks of a New Smile

Custom crafted crown and bridge on tableWhen you come to see us with a compromised smile, whether you have a decayed, broken, or missing tooth, the first treatments we’ll recommend will probably be dental crowns and bridges. The reason for that is simple: they work! Using these treatments, we can restore your smile so that you can eat, speak, and smile with ease once again.

What is a Dental Crown?

A dental crown is a tooth-shaped restoration that simply fits over the top of a damaged tooth in order to replace its lost structure and aesthetics. It can be used to fix:

  • An extremely decayed tooth
  • A tooth with weakened enamel
  • A tooth that is chipped, cracked, or broken
  • A tooth that is oddly shaped or colored
  • A tooth that has just undergone root canal treatment

Thanks to our CEREC system, most of the time, you can have a crown designed, milled, and placed in just one visit to our practice!

What is a Dental Bridge?

If you are missing a single tooth or a few right next to one another, a bridge can be used to replace them. To get one, we’ll simply apply crowns to the teeth surrounding the gap in your smile, and these will be connected to prosthetic teeth that will fill in the space between them. If you do not have enough healthy teeth to support a traditional bridge, we can provide you with an implant-retained bridge.
